President and US delegation discuss security in the Horn of Africa

President of the Republic of Somaliland H.E. Musa Bihi Abdi met US diplomatic delegation and discussed issues pertaining to the general security concerns in the Horn of Africa.

The meeting held at the Presidency on Thursday also dealt with the bolstering of bilateral relations between the two countries.

The US delegation was led by Deputy Amb. Tim Trenkle.

A press circular released by the presidency noted that the Head of State informed the visitors of the general situation in the country and especially on Las Anod issues.

Ways and means of accelerating partnership issues between the two countries and strengthening of the general security situation in the Horn of Africa region were in the itinerary, according to the press release.

Amb Trinkle said of the meeting that he spoke to the president on the need to resuscitate the stalled Somaliland-Somalia Talks that he shed light on as being planned to be relaunched soon.

The President was flanked at the meeting by the minister of foreign affairs and international cooperation in Dr. Issa Keyd and Minister Information, Culture and National Guidance Hon. Suleiman  Yusuf Ali Kore.
