The Minister of Water Resources Development Hon. Ali Hassan Mohamed (Ali Marehaan) led several top government officials to inaugurate the Go’ondale water dam at Go’ondale in the Oodweine region.
With him was his colleague the Minister of Environment and Climate Change Hon. Shukri Haji Ismail Bandare, and the Director General of the Ministry of Rural Development, and the governor of Daadmadeed region on Sunday 27th November 2022.
They officially cut the ribbon from a large water dam, a project that has been implemented by the Ministry.
The community of Go’on-dale and its environs will greatly be served by the water catchment, something that was direly needed in the area, for it will serve the water needs.
The community leaders and residents of the area thanked the government for availing the dam to them.
The minister and other government officials who spoke at the function urged the community to use the amenity wisely and safeguard it.
They underscored the necessity of such a facility in pastoral areas pointing out that they were paramount for the livelihood of both the people and their livestock.
