The Minister of Trade and Tourism Hon. Mohamed Hassan Saad “Saajin” along with the DG Mr. Abdirashid Ibrahim had a meeting on Tuesday with Amb. Benson Mwaliko, the Kenyan Consul in Somaliland.
The meeting between the two sides, which did not provide many details, is said to have been related to the promotion of trade and investments and the removal of trade barriers between the two countries.
The government is planning to become part of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) which aims to promote intra-African trade.
The meeting is part of the implementation of the agreement the President H.E. Muse Bihi Abdi and former President of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta signed in 2020 in Nairobi.
