Somaliland’s Minister of Planning and National Development met with a delegation from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to discuss plans for a population census.
Discussions revolving around population census in Somaliland have taken place among different stakeholders for years.
On September 4, Dr. Ahmed Adan Ahmed Buhane, the planning minister, held discussions with Niyi Ojuolape.
Ojuolape is the Resident Representative of UNFPA to Somalia.
Cheikh Tidiane Cisse, former UNFPA Representative to Zimbabwe, Somalia, and other African nations was at the meeting too.
President Muse Bihi Abdi’s advisors were at the meeting as well.
