THT-The Finance ministry held a farewell party for OPM (Oxford Policy Managemet Ltd), experts who for the last five years collaborated and implemented the Public Financial Management Reform Program, a project which is specifically linked to the Revenue Department streamlining services with the UK Government through its Foreign Office (FCDO) funded yesterday.
While the DRM / PFM (Domestic Revenue & Public Financial Mgt.) It is funded by the World Bank, it is running, but the latter is being supported by the British Government.
The project DRM/PFM, which was completed yesterday, has been going on since 2018 and has made significant strides in modernizing the Customs and Excise services.
The farewell event attended Minister of Finance Dr. Saad Ali Shire, Deputy Minister of Amb. Rhoda Jama Elmi, Director General Mr. Mohamed Abdi Gurhan and PROF/ OPM Somaliland Country Manager Mr. Owen Wilcox, the officials of the Ministry honored the OPM staff with Somali cultural artefacts, a book published last year by the Somaliland Ministry of Foreign Affairs called Somaliland Profile, and one written by a Somaliland citizen named Kayd, as well as an honorary degree.
