THT-The President of the Republic of Somaliland, HE. Muse Bihi Abdi says I came with Washington to seek meaningful engagements and partnerships with the USA.
President Muse, who was invited yesterday to give a speech at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy in Washington, D.C., explained the Somaliland issue and its achievements since independence from Somalia.
Speaking at the meeting, HE Muse commended invitation share participants the issue of Somaliland today and the future of the Red Sea.
“The only message we conveyed to all parties & our ultimate goal was “International recognition to Somaliland,” he said.
We came here to Washington, to meet President Biden officials, Congress and Institutions, like yours, to convey one simple message and our ultimate goal, which is an international recognition to Somaliland.
But, as a first step, we seek strong engagement and partnership with the United States of America.
“Somaliland’s contribution to maritime security and trade in this critical region are more important than ever before…” added President Bihi.
President Bihi was joined by several members of his cabinet, including Foreign Minister, Interior and Security minister, Information and Cultural, his Advisers and Somaliland US Envoy.
