THT-The President of the Republic of Djibouti, H.E. Ismail Omar Guelleh, received today, this Thursday, at the Presidential Palace, the Chief of Diplomacy of Somaliland, Dr. Issa Kayd Mahamoud, headed by a high-level delegation, for a work visit in Djibouti.
The visit of the Somaliland Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Djibouti discussed the strengthening of multiform partnerships and common interests that the two parties maintain in several neuralgia sectors including, trade and security.
That is why the hearing with the Head of State serves essentially as a framework for the identification of new initiatives that may increase the level of economic exchange between the Republic of Djibouti and Somaliland.
The discussions then highlighted the need for the two parties sharing a common border to intensify their security cooperation, which is essential for a successful commercial integration.
For his part, Minister Dr Isse commended the reception of his delegation by the President of Djibouti Mr. Ismail, and said that the issues discussed were key to security cooperation and drought

The Minister of Defence, Hon Abdiqani also said a strong relationship between our two countries are vital for our shared values, common interests, and cultural affinities.

In addition to his defence colleague, Mr. Abdoukarim Mahamoud Atteyeh, Mr. Issa Kayd Mahamoud was accompanied during his hearing with President Guelleh of the Representative of Somaliland in Djibouti, Mr. Abdoulfatah Said Ahmed.
Djiboutian side, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Mahamoud Ali Youssouf, and the Representative of the Republic of Djibouti to Somaliland, Mr. Hussein Omar Kawalieh took part in this meeting.
