THT-The Commander of the Somaliland Police Force, Brigadier General Mohamed Aden Sagadhi, presented cash prizes and promotions to the soldiers who took part in the security protection of the Freedom Park demonstration during the UK Parliament’s recognition of Somaliland yesterday.
The commander justified their promotion after the soldiers performed their duties, providing security, and celebrating with the public to show their citizenship.
Five soldiers, two women and three men, from the Hargeisa Central Police Station and the Municipality were each promoted by one rank, while one was promoted by two ranks.
The soldiers, whose actions were widely shared on social media yesterday, were seen while guarding the courtyard, on the other hand celebrating with thousands of people present the venue.
The move by the Chief of Police will bring the forces closer to the people and increase the confidence of the forces.
