The UCID opposition party has completed it’s allocated two days campaign for the Somaliland elections 2021.
The party concluded its quest to have its 82 and 249 aspirants’ parliamentary and local government seats voted for during nationwide campaign rallies.
At the main event in Hargeisa the UCID leader Eng Feisal Ali Warabe urged Somalilanders to elect his party candidates because they stand for the nation.
“Our party is founded on the principles of Somaliland nationalism as opposed to our competitors tribal tendencies,” said Eng Warabe
The engineer who is also his party’s presidential candidate in Somaliland elections 2022 was referring to Wadani and Kulmiye parties
In reaction to comments elicited by President Musa Bihi during a Rally in Hargeisa by the Kulmiye party he leads, Eng Warabe said
“I seriously don’t know where President Bihi gets the notion that am out of touch, but I aint”
Justifying his party’s nationalism Eng Feisal Ali said that while he and his party have campaigned in current and past Somaliland elections on a nationwide agenda his competitors Abdirahman Irro of Wadani and President Bihi of Kulmiye are engaged in petty clan politics.
Several rallies were also held in various parts of the country bringing an end to the UCID campaign period as allocated by the national elections commission.
