THT: Citizens of Somaliland shall always associate 18th May with the conference of same day in 1991.
Reference to the all clans’ leaders meeting in which Somaliland withdrew from union with Somalia, thus self-rule, was made i by Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi ‘Irro’ in an address on the 18th May thirty anniversary of independence in Burao Toghdeer regional capital
In the capital the  candidate for Somaliland President 2022  was represented by Opposition Wadani party leaders at the national anniversary commemorations also graced natio hosted by the head of state, President Musa Bihi, at the Presidency in Hargeisa

In Burao the Opposition politician was accompanied by Wadani party 1st deputy  chairman Abdirizaq Khalif and senior party official Hirsi Haji Hasan among others.

In his  message, the politician who recounted the struggle leading to today’s Somaliland, said the date of 18th May is a day to celebrate what the people have made, a fully functional nation.
The opposition Wadani leader urged respect to Somaliland’s sovereignty a basic fundamental that enables citizens enjoy true freedom, and subsequent successful and sustained democratization process
