THT- Hargeisa Cultural Centre Chairman Dr Jama Muse Jama and his team took the Tourist Guide and Archaeology trainee, a group learning a tourist guide course to the site of Laasgeel cave paintings on the rural outskirts of Hargeysa. The aim of the trip was to familiarize the future tour guides with the sites and promote awareness.
The visit facilitated members of the “Tourist Guide and Archeology” to witness Las Geel, one of Africa’s oldest art galleries. It is estimated that 5,000-11,000 years ago this art was made. The purpose of this visit was for the members of this training to see and understand the lessons they have learned about tourism and the tasks that a tour guide should take.
