The President of the Republic H.E. Ahmed Mohammed Mohamud Silanyo is safe and sound in a place other than Istanbul and Ankara where a coup de tat has caused ripples leaving 256.
The statement was relayed by the Presidential spokesman Abdirahman Sh. Elmi yesterday. According to monitored reports in the local media, the Spokesman stated through the facebook, “As we are aware hence ascertained by Turkish Premier Binali Yildrim there is a couple tat going on”.
He continued “The President H.E. Ahmed M. Mohamud is in Turkey on private visit as I had said earlier hence is quite safe in a town that is far from Ankara and Istanbul”.
The Turkish coup was not “graced” and has since been stamped out, after failing miserably.
Spokesman Abdirahman was swift in calming and reassuring Somalilanders who were taken aback by the news, mostly because their head of state had reached Turkey a day earlier for a private holiday visit.
The President jetted out of the country on Thursday evening on a trip which is expected to be week-long.
He was accompanied by the First Lady Amina Sheikh Mohammed and his private secretary Mr. Ali Ahmed Ali.
