President of the Republic of Somaliland, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi Irro, on Monday hosted a meeting at his residence with a group of founders, senior party figures, elders, and top officials of the ruling WADDANI Party, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to party unity, effective governance, and the pursuit of international recognition for Somaliland.

According to a statement issued by the President, the meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the WADDANI Party and the government, reinforcing party cohesion, and accelerating the implementation of the commitments made to the people of Somaliland during the election campaign.

President Irro described the gathering as an important step in maintaining close coordination between the ruling party and his administration as it advances its national agenda.

“It is a source of pride and honor for me that the party I helped establish, together with the government I now lead, is at the forefront of strengthening Somaliland’s nationhood and unity,” the President said.

He added that his administration is opening “a new chapter” aimed at achieving international recognition for Somaliland, describing recognition as a long-standing aspiration of the Somaliland people.

The President also urged all founders, senior members, elders, youth and women’s wings, and supporters of the WADDANI Party to preserve unity and work collectively toward achieving the government’s broader objectives.

“Our victory is only the beginning,” President Irro said. “Greater ambitions can only be realized through unity, perseverance, and working together.”

The meeting comes as the WADDANI-led government seeks to consolidate its political agenda while pursuing domestic reforms and expanding diplomatic efforts to advance Somaliland’s longstanding quest for international recognition.
