The Minister of Interior of the Republic of Somaliland, Hon. Abdalle Mohamed Arab, today affirmed that the Somaliland National Army maintains full control over the country’s borders and is actively securing national territory against any potential threats.

In a forceful and unequivocal statement during a press conference held at his office, the minister strongly rejected any claims of foreign aggression, firmly declaring that no invasion or incursion has taken place from any neighboring country. He asserted with absolute confidence that the national armed forces maintain complete and unchallenged control over all border regions and that the country’s territorial integrity remains fully intact and inviolable.

Minister Abdalle warned that any efforts to undermine Somaliland’s stability—particularly those intended to obstruct its ongoing pursuit of international recognition—would be met with resolute and uncompromising force.

“No one has invaded our borders from neighboring countries; the National Army is fully in control and securing our territory,” the minister stated. “We will not bribe anyone for peace. We will deal firmly with those who oppose it. There are those attempting to disrupt our stability specifically to undermine our pursuit of international recognition.”

The remarks come amid Somaliland’s intensified diplomatic campaign for global recognition, following Israel’s formal acknowledgment of Somaliland as an independent state in late 2025, which marked a significant but controversial milestone in the region’s geopolitics.

The minister’s comments underscore Hargeisa’s determination to safeguard internal security and deter any actions perceived as aimed at derailing its sovereignty aspirations.
