The President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi made a compassionate visit to check on casualty victims injured at the recent Borame unrest receiving treatment at the Hargeisa General Hospital (HGH) on Tuesday.
The Head of State conducted a tour in which he visited the injured patients on individual basis while wishing them speedy recovery.
He expressed his sympathy and concern, and received briefings on their medical conditions. He reassured them that the government and people of the Republic of Somaliland stand firmly with all those affected by the incident and that they were not alone in their anguish.
The President commended the Ministry of Health, as well as the management and the entire staff of the hospital for their continued efforts in providing care to the injured. He praised their professionalism and dedication in fulfilling their medical responsibilities to the members of the public.
He once again extended his condolences to the affected families who lost loved ones and of the injured while wishing them speedy recovery.
The unrest whose skirmishes were as the result of rejection of the presentation of the ‘Xeer Ciise’ book in the region (the Isse Customary Tenets), which was vigorously rejected by a section of the area communities, a situation that has since calmed and peaceful stability fully restored.
