The Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Somaliland, Mr. Mohamed Abdirahman, warmly received in his office today Senior Lecturer Dr. Brook Hailu Beshah (PhD), a prominent Ethiopian diplomat, media expert, and academic.
Dr. Brook, who serves as a senior expert at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, is also a lecturer at Addis Ababa University and a senior instructor at the prestigious Institute of Foreign Affairs (IFA) in Addis Ababa.
During his several-week stay in Somaliland, Dr. Brook will deliver advanced specialized training on diplomatic correspondence, protocol writing, and professional communication in diplomacy and international relations.
The training targets diplomats and senior staff of the Ministry, with a particular focus on the first graduating cohort of the Somaliland Institute of Diplomacy and International Affairs (SIDIA), the country’s pioneering diplomatic training academy established under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The visit underscores the growing cooperation between Somaliland and Ethiopia in the fields of diplomacy, capacity building, and international relations, as Somaliland continues to strengthen its diplomatic cadre and institutional frameworks.
