In a move to bolster Somaliland’s economic development, Hon. Said Mohamed Burale, Minister of Investment and Industrial Development, welcomed representatives from Oman’s Salalah Mills Company in Hargeisa for high-level talks. Renowned for its expertise in flour and food product production, the company operates major facilities across Salalah, Muscat, Sohar, Nizwa, and Sinaw.

The meeting focused on opportunities for Salalah Mills to invest in Somaliland’s growing food industry. Minister Burale showcased the nation’s attractive investment environment, urging the Omani firm to establish operations that could drive industrial growth and economic diversification.

Key ministry officials, including Director General Mr. Abdifatah Ismail Duale, Investment Department Director Hibak ali Abdo, and Industrial Department Director Yasir Osman Ahmed, attended the discussions, reflecting Somaliland’s commitment to fostering global partnerships.

This engagement is part of Somaliland’s broader strategy to attract international investment, stimulate job creation, and strengthen its industrial base. The potential partnership with Salalah Mills Company marks a promising step toward positioning Somaliland as a key investment destination in the Horn of Africa, with further talks anticipated to advance this collaboration.
