Somaliland President Commends Electoral Commission, Calls for Transparent Elections

President H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi Irro praised the National Electoral Commission for their dedication and efficiency during a ceremony welcoming a new member, Lawyer Abdirisak Mohamed Said, to the Commission. The swearing-in, conducted by Supreme Court Chief Justice Adan Haji Ali, marked a significant step in preparing for the upcoming national elections.

Speaking at the event attended by Commission Chairman Muse Hassan Yusuf and other commissioners, President Irro urged the team to uphold fairness and transparency to ensure credible elections that reflect the will of Somaliland’s people. He commended the Commission’s track record, noting their success in managing past elections and voter registrations with professionalism.

“You are like judges, and the people expect you to conduct elections with integrity,” President Irro said, expressing confidence in the Commission’s experienced team. He welcomed Lawyer Abdirisak, emphasizing that his addition strengthens the body tasked with delivering free and fair elections.
