Somaliland Ministry of Education Intensifies Oversight of National Examinations

The Somaliland Ministry of Education and Science has launched a nationwide inspection campaign to ensure the integrity and smooth execution of ongoing national certificate examinations.

Leading the effort, Minister of Education Prof. Ismail Duale Yusuf, accompanied by a delegation including the Governor of Gebilay Mohamed Abdillahi and senior ministry officials, conducted a thorough review of examination centers in the Gebilay region. The delegation assessed the adherence to protocols and the orderly conduct of tests, with plans to extend their oversight to the Awdal and Salal regions in the coming days.

In a parallel effort, Director General Abdirahman Hussein H. Hirsi spearheaded inspections in the Togdheer region, joined by Saraar Governor Ahmed Abdilahi Mohamed and regional education chairperson Abdikariin Said Awed. The team visited key examination sites in Wadamago, Aynaba, and Oog, confirming compliance with national standards. The Director General’s delegation is set to continue its mission in the Sanaag region.

Additionally, a team led by the State Minister of Education Mohamed Yusuf Ibrahim is scheduled to inspect examination processes in the Saahil and Odweyne regions, reinforcing the ministry’s commitment to transparency and fairness.

“This initiative underscores our dedication to upholding the highest standards of examination integrity and elevating the quality of education across Somaliland,” said Minister Yusuf in a statement. The ministry’s proactive measures aim to ensure a credible and equitable assessment process for all students.

The inspections come as thousands of students across the country participate in critical examinations, a cornerstone of Somaliland’s education system. The ministry’s efforts have been widely praised for fostering public confidence in the nation’s academic standards.
