In a significant step toward enhancing humanitarian efforts, the Minister of Resettlement and Humanitarian Affairs, Hon. Saleban Duale Haji Jama, alongside Deputy Minister Hon. Abdirahman Shide Bile and Director General Mr. Mukhtar Abdi Jama, hosted a productive meeting with representatives from the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) at the Ministry’s headquarters.

The meeting, described as an introductory session, focused on fostering deeper collaboration between the Ministry and the ICRC. Both parties engaged in detailed discussions to bolster their partnership, with a particular emphasis on addressing pressing humanitarian challenges in Somaliland’s eastern regions.

Key topics included coordinated efforts to improve humanitarian conditions and ensure effective aid delivery to vulnerable communities. The dialogue underscored a shared commitment to tackling critical issues such as displacement and access to essential services in the region.

The ICRC delegation was led by Manish Das, Head of Sub delegation, accompanied by Jimale, Head of Office, and Munira Mohamed Muse, Protection Officer. Their presence highlighted the ICRC’s ongoing dedication to supporting Somaliland’s humanitarian initiatives.

This meeting marks a pivotal moment in strengthening ties between Somaliland’s government and international humanitarian organizations, paving the way for more effective and targeted interventions to uplift communities in need.
