In a significant step toward modernizing government revenue systems, the Ministry of Education and Science, in collaboration with the Ministry of Financial Development, officially opened a new inland Revenue Center at the National Examinations Office today. The facility is set to streamline the payment of all taxes related to educational certificates and other services provided by the office.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by key officials, including Mr. Abdirahman Hussein Haji Hirsi, Director General of the Ministry of Education,  and Science, Mr. Mohamed Hassan Saleeban, Director General of the Ministry of Financial Development, and Mr. Daud Ahmed Farah, Chairman of the National Examinations Office. Speaking at the event, the officials underscored the center’s role in advancing the government’s initiative to unify revenue collection, a priority previously announced by the President of Somaliland.

Effective immediately, the Inland Revenue Center will serve as the sole official hub for paying mandatory taxes associated with certificate services. This move is part of a broader effort to enhance transparency, efficiency, and accountability in the management of educational service revenues.

The establishment of the center is expected to revolutionize the handling of tax-related processes for national examinations, introducing a modern, user-friendly system designed to better serve the public. Authorities anticipate that this development will set a new standard for administrative efficiency in Somaliland’s education sector.
