Republic of Somaliland President H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi (Irro) held a significant meeting with Finland’s Deputy Ambassador Nelli Mikkola at the Presidential Palace to discuss deepening cooperation in peacebuilding, social development, and good governance.
President Irro expressed gratitude for Finland’s consistent support, highlighting Somaliland’s commitment to peace through dialogue and key achievements like civil forces integration, a modern census, and resolving the El-Afweyn conflict.
He emphasized critical needs in healthcare, education, and institutional capacity building where Finland could assist.
Mikkola praised Somaliland’s exemplary elections and peaceful power transition, affirming Finland’s readiness to support healthcare, education, and conflict mediation efforts.
She extended an invitation for the President, a former Finland resident, to visit the country, signalling a commitment to further strengthen ties.
