Mainly Focused on Developing and Promoting Social Services and Commended the VP mission in Sanaag

The weekly Somaliland government cabinet meeting focused on developing and promoting public social services provision.
The session also heard statements from the several ministers including that of interior, health, education and water resource and supplies.
Vocational education levels in the country and how to improve it were discussed, and the levels of water tables and how to meet the water shortage demands and needs in areas afflicted were extensively discussed.
The meeting once again praised the efforts going on in the pacification activities in the Sanaag region, which is being carried out by a large delegation led by the Vice President himself.
A press release from the Somaliland Presidential Palace, which highlights the points discussed at the cabinet meeting, read as follows: –
“The 12th session of the Cabinet Meeting of the Republic of Somaliland, chaired by the President of the Republic of Somaliland, His Excellency Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro held on Wednesday at the Somaliland Presidential Palace, discussed many issues of priority to the Somaliland nation.
Deliberations included: –
* A general report on the country’s security situation, reported by the Minister of the Ministry of Interior and Security, who noted that the overall the country’s security is calm.
* A general report on the country’s general health conditions, the challenges in the eastern regions and issues that need urgent attention, a trip by the minister to Sabowanaag, explained in depth by the Minister of Health Development.
* A detailed report on the Evaluation of Technical Schools in the country, the establishment of the Curriculum of Technical Schools, their number and quality and other Technical Centers; and was reported the Minister of Education, Training and Science.
* A detailed report on the water needs of the Eastern Regions, the water projects that the ministry has completed, those that are underway and new ones being initiated that have had their foundation stones laid , as in Erigavo; impending trips that the ministry will undertake to the Western Regions were briefs by the Minister of Water.
* The Minister of Planning and National Development reported to the council of ministers on the implementation plan for the First 100 Days of the administration, stating that the ministry has set a Strategic Roadmap to strengthen the Somaliland Development Plan, the Political Framework and the Empowerment of National Institutions.
* The Minister of Civil Aviation and Airport Development briefed the Council on the ministry’s plans to facilitate international flights arriving in the country and the standardized immigration regulations that will be applied to passengers. All international flights’ operators have reportedly been provided with the Somaliland immigration regulations required for foreign passengers.
* The coordination and organization (print, audio and video) of the activities that the ministries are participating in during the 100 days of the Government’s commitment to “Togetherness and Action” brief was given by the Minister of the Presidency.
* Minister of Finance and Economic Development gave general briefing on the smooth running and growth of fiscal revenue and the collection of Goods and Services Tax (GST) pointing out that the activities are on course progressing well.
* Finally, the President of the Republic of Somaliland, His Excellency Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro, gave a general report to the Council of Ministers on the latest efforts to pacify the Erigavo district and the Nationalization of the Civilian Forces, which he affirmed that are progressing well.
The President expressed his gratitude to the members of the government led by the Vice President hence lauded the peacekeeping activities they are carrying out in Erigavo, which are nearing completion.
The Vice President and his delegation will continue the nationalization activities in other areas planned for the country.
