The Vice President His Excellency Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi has once again graced another subsequent crucial event of the nationalization of the second batch of the units of local tribal militia at Erigavo in the Sanaag region and being absorbed to the national armed forces.
An elaborate event was held in Erigavo for the occasion of receiving and welcoming another batch of the civilian local militia to join the national forces.
The VP and the delegation he leads that has been in the last few days on a working trip to Sanaag Region, which includes the Minister of Defense, the Minister of Transport and Road Development, the Commander of the National Army, the Minister of State for Internal Affairs, the Minister of Investment, the Governor of Sanaag Region, MPs and traditional leaders, were part of those in attendance to witness the grand event.
The VP, chief of defense and various speakers at the event welcomed and received the combatants with words that were full of praises given the fact that the militia always stood by the mainstream armed forces in defense of the nation and bolstering security in far flung areas of the country hence congratulated them for their patriotism.
.This achievement has been a priority issue for the President himself H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro.
The Head of State had all long promised in his political campaigns as he vied for the presidency to have all local tribal civilian militias in the country absorbed and become part and parcel of the main security arms of the nation.
The events are indeed milestones in the history of the nation in as far as homegrown pacification and peaceful stability is concerned, and marks continuous phases in the stages of absorbing such militia and their hardware into mainstream national service.
Other units are subsequently to be consolidated too.
Upon swearing in, the Head of State repeated his pledges, constituted a national peace commission and at last dispatched his deputy to the eastern parts of the country in pursuit of the noble cause that culminated in the events.
