The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somaliland Hon. Abdirahman Dahir Adan Bakaal, accompanied by the Director General of the Ministry, Mr. Mohamed Abdirahman, received several diplomats from France, Canada and the United Kingdom in his office.

The Minister and the delegation from Canada and Europe discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation, as well as further strengthening the cooperation between Somaliland and the said countries, which are close friends.

During the meeting, the Minister also briefed the delegation on the foreign policy and the peoples’ aspirations and the government’s commitment to obtaining official recognition for the country, inviting the diplomats to justifiably join in and participate in the efforts.

For their part, the delegations from Canada and Europe welcomed the ability and transparency of the Somaliland Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ policy and its commitment to achieving the country’s goals, and pledged to participate in whatever is needed.

Since the swearing in of the WADDANI administration government that installed President Abdirahman Irro as the new head of state, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somaliland have stepped up diplomatic rapports both intensively and extensively to tangibly chart its way forward hence practically rekindled and revitalized foreign relations.

The same vigour of administrative transparency, accountability and diligence within the public sector management has been equally stepped-up across all government institutions.

Endearing the government to the state through public rapport has also seen being bolstered all in the name of peaceful stability, unity and development.
