The President of the Republic of Somaliland H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro has called for compassion and forgiveness, and unity and solidarity to take precedence.
The message by the Head of State to Somalilanders wherever they are, and to Muslims as a whole, was contained in his congratulatory message and greetings on the eve of the beginning of the Holy Month of Ramadan which has just started following the sighting of the moon ushering in the month.
The message of the President read as follows: –
“In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
“On my behalf and on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Somaliland, I hereby send my warmest congratulations to all the people of Somaliland, both within the country and those in the Diaspora, and to all other Muslim people living around the world, on the occasion of the beginning of the blessed Holy Month of Ramadan.
“I urge all the people of Somaliland to take advantage of this precious opportunity of the blessed month of Ramadan to bring about acts of worship, forgiveness, charity, and compassion, which will strengthen the unity and solidarity of our society.
“Likewise, we ask Allah SWT to accept the fasting, prayers, and good deeds of all the Muslim Ummah during the Holy Month of Ramadan and to bear with the difficulties and challenges facing the Muslim Ummah”. END.
