Concerted efforts to achieve peaceful tranquility agreed upon, as VP meets Sanaag customary traditional leaders

The Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland, His Excellency Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi, accompanied by the delegation he is leading on a working trip to Erigavo,  held on Tuesday a large meeting with the traditional customary leaders of the Sanaag region.

They were briefed on the general situation in Sanaag Region hence pondered on how to concertedly work together to bring peace to the region in general.

First, the officials of the delegation of the Vice President gave an in-depth account of the purpose of their trip and the role that the resident traditional leaders are required to play in the peacemaking activities of Sanaag Region.

On their part the traditional leaders who comprised Sultans and Aqiils emphasized the importance of the essence of peace and tranquility for humanity, and underpinned their readiness to work with the delegation led by the VP for the pacification of the region and Erigavo in particular.

The VP thanked the Sanaag community for the warm welcome they extended to him, and announced that the WADDANI administration government is keenly committed to implementing large-scale development projects in the Sanaag Region.

According to a press release by the Presidential Spokesman Hussein Deyr, the meeting ended in mutual agreement with an understanding of concerted obligations  of working together on issues of peace in the Sanaag Region and the stabilization of the city of Erigavo.

The VP’s delegation consisted of several cabinet ministers and the chief of defense staff.
