National Army Commander Praises both 5th and 6th Presidents for their Democratic Spirit

The Chief Commander of the Somaliland National Armed Forces, Major General Nuuh Ismail Taani, praised the immediate past President of Somaliland, H.E. Musa Bihi Abdi, and the newly elected who has just taken over, His Excellency Abdirahman Mohamed Abdillahi Irro, for their open heartedness in receiving and accepting the results of the general elections that depicted maturity in Somaliland democracy.

The commander was addressing the elections stakeholders meeting hosted by the National Electoral Commission over the week

The commander also praised the troops for their role in maintaining security and sacrificing their lives in the conduct of the country’s elections on November 13.

He noted that they were worried about the probability of having incidents and rigging “but by Divine grace all went well”.

He similarly Taani praised the national political parties, civil society organizations, religious scholars, and the public for their participation in the good conduct of the elections in the country.
