The Minister of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, Mr. Abdilaahi Farah Abdi, and the Director General of the Ministry, Mr. Mohamed Osman Saeed, opened a meeting to explain the procedure for bidding for the Somaliland Electricity Recovery Project, known as SESRP, specifically the third phase of providing electricity to health facilities.
The meeting was held on Tuesday at the conference hall of the Ministry of Minerals and Energy of the Republic of Somaliland. During the meeting, the regions were divided into two regions, namely the East and West; the regions of Maroodi-jeex and Awdal, all of which will be provided with sufficient and reliable electricity from clean sources.
Explanations were presented to analyze the understanding of the Project, the bidding process, the rules to be followed, and all questions from various stakeholders who want to participate in the competition to provide electricity to health centers in Somaliland were answered.
At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to follow the process set by the Ministry and the World Bank for competitors interested in participating in the Project through accountability and transparency in order to achieve the project’s goal.
