Their orders are non-binding and untenable as far as Somaliland is concerned

The President of the Republic of Somaliland H.E. Musa Bihi Abdi swiftly retorted to the forays of non-binding directives from Mogadishu that are tailored to undermine Somaliland’s national integrity hence termed them as mere rhetoric.

President Musa described the Mogadishu government and its administration as one that has been unable to manage and govern itself and is only a refuge for foreign governments as its puppeteers.

He pointed out that whatever words emanate out of Mogadishu are untenable hence lacks any tangibility as far as the nation of the Republic of Somaliland is concerned.

He noted that if Somalia had any means of harming Somaliland they would have unleashed them long ago.

The Head of State made the sentiments during a speech he delivered while inaugurating the Haleeya Correctional Centre, the second prison jail that has been established in Maroodijeeh region.

He wondered aloud that while Hassan Sheikh cannot “rule over his own backyard yet directs that international airlines or multinational companies should not operate in Somaliland” beats reason.

He was categorically that the Mogadishu government does not hold any sway over Somaliland at all.

The president said that all Somaliland has always been dealing multinationals and partners going by the country’s constitution and assured them of binding relations hence noted that all are welcome to operate in the nation of Somaliland at all times.

He pointed out that as far as the nation and the people of Somaliland are concerned, the naïve rhetoric emanating from the Mogadishu administration is perpetrated by the political clique and not the populaces.

He however warned that the deemed repercussions that may be caused by such acts by Hassan Sheikh is the entrenchment of deeper enmity between the populaces of both nations.

President Musa declared that the government welcomes and cooperates with anyone who is working with the laws and regulations of Somaliland, and at the same time, would not hesitate take firm measures against anyone who, or institutions which, violates them.
