The director general of Somaliland’s water ministry Nafisa Mohamud Shirwa’, who was accompanied by both Togdeer regional and Burao district administration officials, laid the foundation stone of the drilling of two water wells in Burao town.
These two water sources projects are being facilitated by the local water agency as way of bolstering the resourcing of the commodity to supplement the other several wells that have already been implemented to serve the residents.
These two water wells that have been stoned in the city of Buroa are funded by the Al-Wafaa Foundation of the United Arab Emirates, with the help of the King Salman Fund.
The ceremony to lay the stone for these two water wells was attended by the governor of Togdeer region, Jama Mohamud Bin, the mayor of Burao, as well as officials from the Al-Wafaa Foundation, and the King Salman Fund.
The DG note that with the growing population, the supply of the commodity was demanded even more and that it was the responsibility of the state to see to it that such basic livelihood needs are realized hence provided all over the nation.
The regional governor praised the water department for being steadfast in its service provision.
The manager of the water agency, Zakariya Abdirahman noted on is part their elation in implementing the project which would go down well in serving the residents.
Similar sentiments were expressed at the event by the representatives of the sponsoring organizations.
