President receives new Burao mayor and deputy who have just defected to the ruling party

The President of the Republic of Somaliland H.E Musa Bihi Abdi, on Monday held a specially-exclusive meeting with the newly elected Mayor of Burao Cllr. Mohamed Hirsi Ahmed and his deputy Cllr. Sultan Nouh Jama, both who have subsequently just announced their defection from the opposition to the ruling party KULMIYE.
The Head of State praised the new leadership of the Burao local council for their election, and urged them to work for the development of the county, and to bring on board progressive creativity that would focus and lead to prosperity and development.
On their part, the duo civic leaders thanked the President for the honour he bestowed upon them that was depicted in the manner of the reception that they were accorded. They promised to be committed to bringing Burao to sustainable development, asked the central government to stand by them in supporting their obligated endevours.

The president was flanked by the cabinet ministers of interior affairs, animal husbandry and rural development, mining and energy, the first deputy chairman of the Kulmiye party and the chairman of the refugee and displaced persons agency. Also present were the governor of Togdeer region, some parliamentary members of the House of Representatives and councilors of the Burao local council.
