The former President of the Republic of Somaliland Dahir Rayale Kahin, was widely welcomed in Britain in an event convened by the country’s UK office.
Ambassador Abdi Abdullahi (Moon-weerar) organized the event that was graced by the members of the diaspora and officials who previously held senior positions in the administration governments of Dahir Rayale, Ahmed Silanyo and other leaders of Somaliland, whose purpose was to show respect and appreciation to the former President.
Ambassador Abdi Abdullahi, said that the meeting honored the former President Dahir Rayale for his pragmatism and most notably implementing democracy in Somaliland.
“It is an honor for us to receive our third president Mr. Rayale Kahin, who established the democratic process of our country.”
The former president of Somaliland, Dahir Rayale, while addressing the meeting urged Somalilanders to stay united and always strive to maintain the solidarity and integrity of the country.
He spoke about the current situation in the country and the conflicts that are raging in some areas of Somaliland.
He also spoke about the challenging issues of electioneering and the democratic process of Somaliland, mentioning the stages that Somaliland has gone through and the period when he was the VP for five years and President for eight.
