The President H.E. Musa Bihi Abdi on Tueday inaugurated the new oil and gas terminal port in Berbera which has been equipped with a modern pipeline that feeds the National Oil Reserve Tanks.
While cutting off the ribbon to commission the implemented project, the Head of State who has been on an official visit in Berbera for the second day emphasized the importance of the realization ultra modern facility for the economic development of the nation.
He lauded the technical expertise and knowledge applied in the project as far as the facility was constructed putting in perspective its security and ease of services right from the unloading oil tankers to the reservoir storages and supplies to the nation.
He also praised the local expertise whose handiwork is top-notch.
He said, “It is very fortunate that people from Somaliland have such expertise exhibited here in these works”.
He further said, “This is a state-owned facility that benefits anyone who wants to unload oil and gas from the national port of Berbera”.
Mr. Mustafa Ali Jama, who spoke on behalf of the company that implemented the project, thanked the president for his efforts to make the country have an international terminal to import oil and gas.
The President inspected the places where the oil and gas pipelines are installed through the sea before having a meeting with the administration of the Sahil region and Berbera district, who briefed the president on the security and development situation in the region.
