The President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Musa Bihi Abdi, has calmed the members of the public who have been tense for fear of instability.
The sigh of relief came with the Head of State’s assurance to the people of Somaliland of the worries and fears that they had in the last few days about the safety of the country and he advised them to enjoy peace and shun the words of the peddlers of seeds of discord in the social media.
He gave the facts as he addressed a function that launched a biographical book of his predecessor former President Ahmed Mohamed Mohamoud Silanyo unveiled at the Presidency.
The President stated the fact that there was no issue of catastrophes emanating from the opposition fraternity as a whole but the public scare has been the work of the devil on the social media across the globe.
He urged the public not to heed to nor listen to wayward propaganda but to stay away from the perpetrators of ill-will being spread through the social media.
On the other hand, he made it clear that the opposition has not been suppressed nor have they been denied free speech hence the only thing at stake is the upcoming elections contest.

The president, speaking about the issues, said. “In general, people are very worried on social media, they are worried about breach of security and asserting that something will happen, I assure you that nothing will happen since Abdilqadir Jirde the opposition stalwart who is a great elder, knowledgeable and calmest among the elders of the opposition has depicted to us here that there is no danger emanating from the opposition fraternity and everything will end in discussion.”
The President continued, “I believe that there is no problem than politics during electioneering that is being blown out of proportions by the social media giving the insinuations that a whole community is battling. I promise you that there is no area of Somaliland under siege”.
He said that the chaos is being driven by modern technology though the social media all over the globe.
