Officials of the Somaliland Ministry of Environment and Climate Change yesterday received a delegation from the European Union, and EUCAP.
In a written statement issued by the information department of the Somaliland Ministry of Environment during the meeting between the officials of the ministry and the heads of the EUCAP agency.
The minister of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Hon. Shurki Haji Ismail Bandare, the director general of the ministry Mohamed Abdallahi Duale and ministry’s departmental heads with a delegation from the European Union led by the head of the Somaliland office of EUCAP, Mr. Brendan Kenny, and flanked by EUCAP officials.
The meeting focused on ways to cooperate on the Marine Environment Protection Act, and to improve the quality of the staff of the Department of Marine Environment Protection, of the Ministry of Environment.
During the meeting the two sides discussed on how to enhance cooperation in the protection and development of the Maritime Environment of the Republic of Somaliland, as the EUCAP agency works with the Ministry of Environment of Somaliland on the protection and development of the Sea.
EUCAP agency is one of the partner agencies that the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change of Somaliland work together on environmental protection issues, especially in the marine environment.
