The minister of defense Hon. Abdiqani Mohamoud Ateeye (Fariid) has confirmed the attack on Somaliland army positions by a ragtag militia from the Puntland-administered region of Somalia.
He said the militia mounted an attack from two directions. Minister Farid confirmed that the enemy forces suffered heavy losses after having been repulsed successfully.
“Somaliland army has captured more than 20 prisoners of war, confiscated two armored vehicles and more than 100 assortments of small and heavy machine guns.”
The minister lauded the Somaliland defense forces terming them as brave. congratulatory messages to the brave Somaliland army.
