The Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Information, Culture and National Guidance Hon. Said Hassan Habane received a delegation from German’s Goethe Institute that visited the country in his office.
The delegation led by the Deputy Ambassador of Germany, HE Sascha Kienzle consisted of Ms. Lilli Kobler and Ms. Sheila Kenounga, from the Goethe Institute, which is the main German global cultural organization in charge of language and culture in Germany, had a meeting with officials from the ministry.
With Hon. Habane was the Chairman of Hargeisa Cultural Center Dr. Jama Muse Jama, the Director General of the ministry Mr. Abdikarin Adan Saed, and National TV Director Mr. Abdirisaq Osman.
The visitors were conducted on a tour of Radio Hargeisa and other departments of the ministry. The two sides agreed to work together on matters related to culture, art, and the preservation of literature.
For over seventy years, the Goethe Institute has enabled international cultural exchange to take place, promoted access to the German language and supported the unimpeded development of culture and science.
As the globally active cultural institution of the Federal Republic of Germany, they advocate for understanding between Germany, Europe and the world. The framework agreement with the German Federal Foreign Office is the foundation for this work.
Worldwide, they provide information about the cultural and societal diversity of Germany and Europe through 158 Goethe Institutes in 98 countries together with numerous partner institutions form the basis of their global network.
