The Disaster Preparedness and National Food Reserve Agency have delivered food donations to the areas under the Lasanod district for the drought-affected residents. The relief supply of basic foodstuff necessities targeted a total of 450 families.
They are 200 families in Boo’ame and 150 families in both Tukaraq and Gambada.
The Deputy Chairman of the agency Mr. Faysal Jamam Hirsi Hawte, who spoke about the efforts of the government’s distribution of food to the drought-stricken communities in the Sool region, said that they will continue to deliver the relief supplies to the communities and distribute it in a fair manner.
The mayor of Boo’ame district and the officials of Tukaraq, Gambada areas thanked the government for the direly needed deliveries.
Also, the Deputy Governor of Sanaag region opened the 4th round of food distributed by the Disaster Preparedness Agency and the National Food Bank of NEDFOR, which was donated by the Saudi government.
