President inaugurates a milestone dam in Gebiley vicinity that would alleviate water shortages

THT- The President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Muse Bihi Abdi inaugurated a milestone large water dam that the government constructed at the northern outskirts of Gabiley town, which has since been completed.
The dam would alleviate water problems in a country that is prone to droughts.
The dam has conserved a large mass of water by capturing amounts of flowing rainwater that usually drained into the sea. It would go down well to serve the local community and their livestock and associated farming needs.

The President, after inaugurating the dam he made a brief inspection of the area appreciating the amount of water captured and spoke to some of the farmers in the area and the leaders of the company that implemented it.

These are some of the developmental aspects he has been personally spearheading that are quite beneficial to the people and their animals. The heads of the district and those of Gabiley region, who spoke in turn, explained in depth the different stages of the construction of the dam, the efforts of the president of the country to make this dam a success and add a lot to the lives of the local community and the region.
The Minister of Water Development Hon. Ali Hassan Mohamed (Ali-marrehaan), thanked the president for the implementation of the dam, which is one of the most beneficial projects implemented by the government of President Muse Bihi, and called upon the regional administration to protect the dam by being self-responsible.
The President described the development as a great step forward for the nation which shows that if there are concerted efforts toward a goal by people can overcome many challenges that are facing them today. He also called upon them to protect the dam for which the nation has sacrificed a lot of wealth.
