THT- New political associations that has advanced to the second phase of the electoral process, have responded to a statement from the leaders of the two opposition parties who have once again called for unauthorized demonstrations that may cause mayhem.
Five heads of political associations called on the opposition parties to comply with the Constitutional Court’s decision regarding the opening of political association.
The Chairman of Wabari Political Association Abdirisaq Ibrahim Atash and the Chairman of Political Association Hilaac Ahmed Ismail Samatar, who spoke on behalf of the Political Associations fraternity, said that the country’s constitution is not that of mornachy and that is no need for unnecessary protests.
Hon. Atash said that the latest voices coming out from the opposition parties, and their worries are not worthwhile and that presidency is subjected to elections.
Prof. Samatar said that the youth of Somaliland need a future and that they should not compromise, and the future can be ensured by following the recommendations of the Supreme Court and the successive legislative bodies.
He said that in order to ensure the future, “we are suggesting to the opposition and ruling party, to obey and follow the words of the top institutions of the country which is the only one ought to be adhered to by the nation”.
Samatar added that the law on the opening of political organizations was approved by the council of representatives, and the current council passed it again, then the Senate signed it, and the Supreme Court and the President processed it.
