THT- Young people are not only our future, but our present. They act here and now. That is why Raoul Wallenberg Academy makes efforts every year to draw attention to them. With the Young Courage award, we pay tribute to young people aged 13 to 20 who have made a difference in their everyday lives. One of these is Mohamed Shueb, 21, from Kisa, who receives the award for his community involvement and with various initiatives creates social change. Mohamed is one of thirteen young people who now receive an award for acting with a great deal of courage, civic courage, empathy and drive for a more humane society.

Raoul Wallenberg Academy Acting is as important then as now as always. Raoul Wallenberg acted against injustice and took a stand for the equal value of all human beings. Raoul Wallenberg Academy was founded in 2001 by, among others, Raoul Wallenberg’s sister Nina Lagergren with the vision of a humane society where every human being makes a difference. We work for young people to see themselves as leaders and act with civil courage for a humane society.
Tens of thousands of young people get involved in our educations and school programs every year. We also train teachers and school leaders in self-leadership to strengthen upper secondary schools in their work on basic values. August 27 also marks Raoul Wallenberg’s day, Sweden’s national day for compassion and civil courage.
