Members of the Somaliland National Electoral Commission led by Commissioner Mohamed Jama , Commissioner Kaltuun Sheik Hassan , Mayor of Berbera , Governor of Sahil Region and representatives of the three official national political organization’s on Saturday (19/03/2016) held a joint press conference at the Bebera Marine Collage in which they declared the conclusion of the first phase of the voters registration process in Sahil ,Baligubadle and Gabiley region.
Commissioner Mohamed speaking on behalf of the National Electoral Commission said, “I would to announce that we have completed the first phase of the voter’s registration in Sahil and the other two regions this apart from the ongoing dry spell being experienced across the country.
The representatives of the three official national political organization’s present during the press conference praised NEC staff for a job well done one week after the process commenced in the earmarked areas.
The two NEC commissioners while addressing those present at the press conference said, “As we come to the conclusion of the first phase of the voters registration, we would like to urge fellow citizens who are not yet to register themselves now that the second phase is about begin.
On the other hand, the Mayor of Berbera and the Governor of Sahil praised the National Electoral Commission for executing their duties with diligence at the same time wishing them success.
