Hargeisa (THT) Borama-May-16-2015-H.E Vice President Abdurrahman Abdullah Ismael Saylici was today received by jubilant crowds in the Borame town, Awdal region.
The Vice President speaking to members of the press briefly said, “My current trip to Borame town relates to matters concerning development , security and the preparations for Somaliland Independence Day celebrations which are due to be held on the 18th of May, 2015.
Once upon his arrival in Borame town the Vice President addressed the thousands of residents of Borame who had gathered there to welcome him, “I would like to thank you all for the troubles you took to come here to welcome, I will be spending the next few days here with you and also to celebrate the 24th anniversary of 18th May independence day celebrations here.
Mr. Mahmoud Saleban Ali, the governor of Awdal region who was among the government officials who had gathered to receive the VP said, ‘Today we gather here to receive you as the people of Awdal
The Vice President was during the trip to Borame was flanked by top Cabinet ministers, regional administrators and other dignitaries.
Awdal region has of recent times seen aupsurge in security related incidents.
