Hargeisa (THT) The President H.E. Ahmed Mohammed Mohamud Silanyo surprised residents of the sea port town of Berbera when he walked casually out of the state lodge and visited local restaurants and business premises.

The Head of State who left from Berbera on Friday was accompanied by the First Lady Amina Sheikh Mohammed Jirde.

It is expected that the President might inaugurate and commission the heralding and establishment of scores of government projects that has since been implemented in the town.

So far there is no official statement on how long he would be in the port town nor have any details of his itinerary been given.

The President was happily welcomed by enthusiastic crowds along the road.

He was equally thronged by crowds who shook his hands as he walked along the streets and had tea in local restaurants.
