The Vice President of the Republic of Somaliland, Mr. Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi, and his delegation attended a grand ceremony integrating the final group of Civil Defense Forces and their combat vehicles stationed in the Saraar and Sool regions to national army forces.
Speaking to the community in the Saraar region, Vice President H.E. Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi first expressed gratitude to all the residents of these regions for their honorable role in the National Plan for the Integration of the Civil Defense Forces and their vehicles. He stated:
“The Civil Defense Forces Integration Program is a comprehensive national plan, and it has now reached its final stages. Today, we have integrated the last of the civil defense forces in Sool and Saraar to national army forces.”
Additionally, the Vice President noted that the integration plan for the civil defense forces in the Togdheer region is progressing well, expressing hope that the process will be completed in the coming days.
In his concluding remarks, Vice President H.E. Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi emphasized that the defense of the country is adequately handled by the National Armed Forces, and he affirmed that the regions not currently under Somaliland’s control will be peacefully reclaimed. He further stated:
“The defense of the country is the responsibility of the Somaliland government, and it is fully secured by the Somaliland National Armed Forces. The country will be defended, and the areas not yet under our control will return peacefully. Now, let us prepare for the development and unity of the nation.”
