The Vice President (and Acting President) His Excellency Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi, on Thursday launched a large-scale project by the Ministry of Livestock and Rural Development general veterinary clinics and supplements campaigns for more than half a million livestock across various areas of Somaliland.
The event held the ministry’s headquarters saw the attendances of the minister of Livestock and Agriculture, the Presidential Spokesman, Directors General, vet experts implementing the treatment project, and other distinguished guests.
Speeches were made at the forum based on the importance of livestock for this treatment and how the “Togetherness and Action” administration are committed to developing the country’s economic backbone, which is livestock.
The Vice President praised and lauded the Ministry of Livestock for the valuable project that the it is handling, and underpinned the fact that that the new government is giving special importance to livestock, which is the backbone of livelihood and economy of the people of Somaliland.
The Minister of Livestock and Rural Development Hon. Omar Shuayb Mohamed, pointed out that the treatment project was part of the government’s policy and the actions that the “Togetherness and Action” government intends to implement during the first 100 days of its administration, hence that the project consists of nutrition, anti-parasitic medicines and general treatments of other ailments.
The Minister of Agriculture Development Hon. Mohamoud Egge Yusuf also praised the project, describing it as something to be proud of and much needed during the difficult dry season.
The Director General of the Ministry of Livestock, Mr. Ahmed Osman Farah explained in depth the importance of the clinics and supplements project and how it contributes to the enrichment of livestock and protecting their health.
