THT- Somaliland ambassador to the United States Md. Bashir Goth leading a former diplomatic delegation led arrived in the country today.
The delegation included Mr. Tibor Nagy, a veteran diplomat, former assistant US secretary of state for Africa under President Trump, and Ambassador J. Peter Pham, former US envoy to the Sahel region (northern Senegal, southern Mauritania, Mali, Burkina Faso, southern Niger, northeastern Nigeria, Chad, and Sudan), and Brigadier General William “Kip” Ward, former commander of the US Africa Command and Mr. Joshua Meservey, a specialist in Africa/Middle East politics at the Heritage Foundation.
The members of the delegation except General Ward are great supporters of the Republic of Somaliland, and they have suggested to the American government on several occasions to have close relations with Somaliland.
Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr. Mohamed and government officials welcomed the delegation at Igal airport although no details were given about the delegation’s trip and the duration of their stay Ambassador Nagy posted
