H.E President Ahmed Mohamed Mahmoud Silanyo has issued today issued a Presidential directive # JSL/M/DEC/249-3756 /012016 in which he authorizes the voter’s registration process to be begin in the country.

After putting into consideration: Article 90 of Somaliland constitution (Presidential Powers);
In Accordance: with Somaliland Voters Registration (Amendments & Additions) Law No. 37/2007, section 28 as amended in 2014.
Having considered: The text submitted by the National Electoral Commission # NCA / XK / 498/2016, dated 02/01/2016 and the purpose of the application is to declare time to start the Voter Registration process in the country;

The process of voters registration will first commence in Togdheer region , on the 16/01/2016.
