THT; On Monday the 24th May, 2nd day of the Somaliland elections 2021 campaign the ruling Kulmiye held rallies all over the country.
Trumpets blaring messages of vote soliciting by its 82 candidates for parliament and 249 for local council could be heard from regional, districts, ,divisions and national freedom squares.
The ruling party rallies were in avoidance to the six days three parties electioneering schedule for the Somaliland parliamentary and local Councils elections set by NEC.
The main events at the Hargeisa Freedom square were officiated the Somaliland President and chairperson of the Kulmiye party Musa Bihi Abdi
Addressing the thousands of party supporters and candidates vying for parliamentary and Hargeisa local council seats in the May 31st elections , the president urged all to cast their votes.
Stating that he as chairman of ruling Kulmiye was intent on securing election of all party aspirants, he stressed in his capacity as head of state a peaceful campaign and subsequent balloting
“Elections should lead us to unity, love, progress as a nation and not to insult, tribalism, scandal and evil” said President Bihi
In conclusion he urged for an entirely free, Fair and peaceful election
In his Awdal region home base of Borame, his VP Abdirahman Sayli praised the ruling party for the calibre of candidates it has sponsored.
“Our party has the best candidates to lead natonal and regional affairs” said VP Sayli as he solicited votes for the aspirants.
Senior party officials led similar activities in the other regional capitals of Somaliland from where Kulmiye has 81 and 249 candidates vying for parliament and local Councils seats.
Kulmiye was preceded by UCID which launched its campaign at a rally in the Toghdeer regional capital Burao was officiated by its leader Eng Feisal Ali Warabe.
Tuesday will be Wadani telling voters why they should vote for the opposition party’s 82 aspiring legislators and 249 councillors.
